"Tom was not only a great photographer but also an admirer of Keesha.

"We tried for some formal head shots. We really did! They were awful. So I wore my most comfortable working outfit and got down on the floor with the dog. She helped me relax and reveal my true personality.

"Keesha is my personal coach, roommate, and cheerleader. It's hard to believe she's my very first dog. Until December, 1998, I was a 100% cat person.

"Tom, the photographer, died just before Thanksgiving, 2002. He had been a miner for many years and picked up a work-related illness that proved fatal. In his last years he turned to photography, with great success. We still miss him."
